Colon Cleansing and IBS
Do you often feel like you have a lot of gas stuck in your stomach?
After eating, do you always feel like you're bloated? Is this
feeling accompanied by the urge of vomiting? If you do, then you are
quite possibly experiencing chronic Irritable bowel syndrome or IBS.
This digestive disorder involves the muscles of the large intestines
which are responsible to contract, send feces to the colon, and
signal the urge of bowel of movement.
Normally, these muscles tighten for a few times everyday. In
Irritable bowel syndrome however, these muscles contract more that
often, as brought by different food triggers and other stimuli. This
results to persistent abdominal pain, which does not go away unless
defecation happens. This abdominal pain, among chronic cases, also
includes mucus and blood in the feces and nausea and vomiting.
Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common digestive
problems in America, perhaps next to constipation. Preventing this
disorder is pure and simple, and can be summed up in two words:
colon cleansing. Through colon cleansing, bacteria, toxins, and IBS
inducing particles are removed from the walls of the intestines.
Colon cleansing touches the dimensions of diet, physical activities,
and mental and emotional outlook.
In terms of diet, colon cleansing can be done by reducing if not
stopping the intake of food that triggers IBS. Among the most common
substances that cause IBS are alcohol, carbonated and caffeinated
beverages, coffee, fatty foods, deep fried foods, and artificial
sweeteners and dairy products. Colon cleansing requires the intake
of food that has high fiber content, such as grains and cereals, and
fruits and vegetables. Fibers are like mops and feather dusters of
the digestive process: they brush the walls and floors of the
intestines and combine them with the generated feces. It is also
important to drink lots of water everyday, preferably 8 to 12
glasses, so food is digested thoroughly and feces can be taken out
regularly and smoothly.
Colon cleansing also involves regular exercise, if not leisurely
physical activities like sports and travel. It has been found out
that symptoms of Irritable bowel syndrome are partly caused by
stress and fatigue. Through regular exercise, inner and outer
muscles are conditioned to its best state, and hence reduce physical
stress.
Regular exercise also gives people the chance to stop, rest and
think of things from a wider perspective. And as mentioned, colon
cleansing calls for a positive mental and emotional outlook. When
people are not bothered by psychological burdens, it reflects on the
way their body functions. They eat on time and well, have adequate
rest and sleep, and work with passion and enjoyment. The chance of
getting disorders like Irritable bowel syndrome dives.
